Civil War Stories with Steve Ball

Steve Ball is a musician from Columbus Ohio specializing in the music of the American Civil War, and the music and life of Stephen Foster. Steve has studied the American Civil War since his teens, and has devoted the past twenty years to studying the music of this era in American history. Steve has done programs for the Ohio Statehouse, the National Civil War Museum, the American Civil War Museum of Ohio, and countless historical societies, genealogical societies, libraries, museums, Civil War Round Tables and other historical venues such as re-enactments or living history programs.

Adult Book Discussion Group
Join a lively discussion group of book lovers and get in on
the fun! Adults are welcome to sign up to attend monthly
book discussions, which take place the first Tuesday
evening of each month from 6:30-8:00 pm.
The group
discusses a different book each month, which can be picked
up at the library. Interested participants can stop in to pick
up the next book.

Registration begins May 24

Starting May 24 you can register online with the links below.

You can start recording any reading material CHECKED OUT from SALEM TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY on June 4.

Youth Registration:

Newborns - to age 11.

For GRADE please use GRADE JUST COMPLETED. example: you just completed 4th grade you would put 4 not 5.


Participants must read at least ten (10) books (Checked out from The Salem Township Public Library) to qualify for a Summer Reading T-shirt.


Increase your chances of winning a special prize at the end of the program by visiting the library each week. You can earn up to eight (8) drawing slips!

If you are recording online - Just come in to the library and let us know how many books you have recorded so we can update our records.
